What are Feeding Challenges?
The children we help struggle with pain or anxiety related to eating, many due to cleft palates, autism, and feeding tubes.
The children we help may be premature, born too early to be able to eat.
They may have heart difficulties and not have the endurance to eat.
They may have severe gastrointestinal issues causing such pain or discomfort, that they do not want to eat.
They may have a cleft lip and or palate and have compromised anatomy for eating.
They may have autism and have severe sensory challenges with the textures of eating.
They may have feeding tubes and be learning to eat by mouth.
We are here to support the feeding relationship between babies and their entire families. Fathers also feed babies. Grandmothers feed babies. Siblings feed babies. We support the whole family because feeding challenges affect the whole family.
